My New Best Steamboat Friend!
This furry friend was just passing through the back yard last week around dinner time. He was the largest black bear that I’ve seen here in the boat. We also had the pleasure of seeing a baby bear wander up onto the back deck looking for handouts which will never come. I don’t know who was more startled the baby or me. Papa bear appears to be fattening up for the Winter, for all of our Sarvice berries were stripped clean. It is fun to see nature up close. We usually have more foxes, deer and elk, but this year it seems that we’ve had more bears around town.
It’s Hunting Season Around Steamboat Springs
Soon we will be seeing the bright orange and camo on the hunters in the grocery stores. Even though it is archery and muzzleloading rifle season now, the real crowds are seen in October and November. Make sure that you take care to wear orange while hiking especially during rifle season.(don’t forget orange for fido too) Read the rest of this entry »
Oktober West in Steamboat Springs…
One would think that the First Annual Oktober West would be in October???? Not here in Steamboat…it is September 18-20 to capture the hight of the Fall colors. This is a combination of the previous Steamboat Brewfest and Fall Foilage Festival but will have more family-fun time.
Fun, Food, Fall Colors, Friends, Family, Festivities…. And Beer!
Come celebrate the Fall season at a Steamboat-style Oktoberfest with music, food, beer, games and activities for kids and adults, chef competition and much more. We’re taking all the German Oktoberfest traditions and stamping them with Steamboat’s western brand. No German beer here, just good ol’ Rocky Mountain beer, food and festivities.
Kickoff the weekend Friday night with a cruiser bike parade in Steamboat’s historic downtown leading patrons to their favorite restaurants for beer tastings and food specials. Saturday is packed with entertainment for everyone in the family in a beautiful location, the base of the Steamboat Ski Area. Admission to the event is FREE. Read the rest of this entry »
Faster Than a Steamboat Minute?
I’m feeling a little guilty by not posting on here for a while. If you haven’t been to Steamboat in the Summer than you are probably wondering what we do here in the ‘Boat when there isn’t any snow in which to play. Can you say…marathons, horseback rides, hikes, bike, boat, kayak, tube, shop, friends/family visits, fishing, wine & dine? Did I leave anything out? Oh yes…Real Estate. The month of July, Prudential logged the most property showings than in its entire history. We haven’t received the stats for August yet, but if the rest of our Agents were as busy as I have been, then we are on track for another record. Don’t miss the current Steamboat Buyer’s market. Call or email me for a full Steamboat real estate update.
