Sheriff Wall Sentenced To Probation
Routt County Sheriff, Gary Wall was sentenced to one year of unsupervised probation, pay fines of $816, thirty six hours of community service and 12 hours of alcohol eduction and therapy. He was convicted in a Jury trial of driving while ability impaired, prohibited use of a weapon and failure to dim his headlights. He must abstain from alcohol throughout his year-long probation. Because he refused any tests of his blood alcohol level the night of the traffic stop, his driver’s license was suspended.
Wall declined to make a statement when Judge Williams gave him the opportunity prior to announcing the sentence. She said that “I would tell the sheriff I’m disappointed with his actions in this case, but he knows that himself.”
